PA State Supplementary Payments to SSI Recipients Reduced

In the January 16, 2010 edition of the Pennsylvania Bulletin the PA Department of Public Welfare (DPW) announced that DPW will make changes to state supplementary payment (SSP) levels, cutting by up to 24% the supplements that it pays to federal Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients. On January 21 Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry (L&I) reported that state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose to 8.9 percent in December, up four-tenths of a percentage point from November.
