At the July 22 meeting of the PA Department of Public Welfare (DPW) Medical Assistance Advisory Committee (MAAC) DPW Deputy Secretary Jennifer Burnet reported that the final budget resulted in a $34 million cut in long-term care from the proposed budget and a $5 million reduction in attendant care. OLTL is working on ways to mitigate the impact of the cuts. Burnet also reported that CMS has approved the CommCare and Attendant Care waivers and accompanying work plans. OLTL expects to complete transitioning people from the Michael Dallas waiver to the Attendant Care waiver by September 1. She said that OLTL expects to issue several documents in the near future, including a draft of the first section of the policy manual; a fraud and abuse bulletin; a draft bulletin on care management services coordination; and a preventable serious adverse events bulletin.
